Caramelized Carnitas Recipe
This simple, flavorful caramelized carnitas goes well with any vegetable side dish. Suitable for novice cooks with little experience in the kitchen.

Caramelized Carnitas

o 1-1/2 pounds boneless Pork Shoulder, cut into 1 inch cubes
o 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
o 1 tablespoon Tequila
o 1 tablespoon Molasses
o 1/2 teaspoon Salt
o 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
o 2 Cloves Garlic, Finely Chopped
o 1/3 cup Water
o 1 Green Onion, Sliced
o 1 teaspoon dill weed


1. Place pork cubes in a single layer in a 10-inch skillet. Top with remaining ingredients except green onion and dill.

2. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the water has evaporated and the pork is slightly caramelized, about 30 minutes.

3. Transfer to a serving plate and sprinkle top with green onions and dill weed. Serve over rice or as an appetizer with tooth picks.
