Carne Asado Recipe



Ingredients:
* 1 pound Beef stew meat
* 4 Cloves garlic, chopped
* 1 Onion, minced
* 1 teaspoon ground Cumin
* 1 teaspoon Black pepper
* 2 small cans Tomato sauce
* 2 or 3 beef bouillon cubes
* Flour as needed to thicken sauce

Directions
1. Cut beef into 1" cubes.
2. In medium size, heavy pot, place enough bacon drippings or cooking oil to cover bottom. Place stew meat, garlic and onion in pot and saute until meat is lightly browned.
3. Add water to cover and two or three cubes beef bouillon, cumin, pepper and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer on low heat until meat is tender.
4. Toward end of cooking time (about 1 hr.) add flour to thicken sauce and continue simmering, stirring frequently, an additional 10 min.
5. Transfer to serving plates and garnish with chopped lettuce, tomatoes and shredded cheddar cheese.
Serve with Spanish rice, tortillas and refried beans.
