Tex-Mex Chile Burgers Recipe
Ingredients
* 4 hamburger buns
* 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
* 1 clove garlic crushed
* 1 dash black pepper
* 1 teaspoon chile powder seasoning
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 cup Monterey cheese, shredded
* 1 small can green chiles, minced
* 4 slices onion
* 1 tomato, sliced
* 4 leaves lettuce
* fresh salsa, as needed
Directions
1. Mix beef with garlic, black pepper, chile powder and salt in a large bowl. Shape into 4 flat patties.
2. Preheat broiler.
3. Cook burgers to desired doneness. Watch closely; they can burn very fast.
4. Toast the buns until browned.
5. Sprinkle cheese on top of each hot bun. Add a hot hamburger patty, a tablespoon of green chiles, an onion slice, tomato slice, and lettuce leaf.
Serve immediately with salsa on the side. Makes 4 burgers.
