Cheese, chili and salsa give these hefty burger's that Mexican touch. Great for a snack or main meal.
Tex-Mex Chili Burgers

Yield: 4 servings
o 4 hamburger buns
o 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
o 1 clove garlic crushed
o 1 dash black pepper
o 1 teaspoon chile powder seasoning
o 1/2 teaspoon salt
o 1/2 cup Monterey cheese, shredded
o 1 small can green chiles, minced
o 4 slices onion
o 1 tomato, sliced
o 4 leaves lettuce
o fresh salsa, as needed
1. Mix beef with garlic, black pepper, chile powder and salt in a large bowl. Shape into 4 flat patties.
2. Preheat oven broiler.
3. Cook burgers under broiler until done to your preference. Watch closely; they can burn very fast.
4. Toast the buns until browned.
5. Sprinkle cheese on top of each hot bun. Add a hot hamburger patty, a tablespoon of green chiles, an onion slice, tomato slice, and lettuce leaf.
