Margarita Recipe
Margarita purist may scoff at this recipe. It's not meant to be the classic margarita. It's just a simple, easy home made margarita. Especially good for crowds at parties since they can be made fast in large batches. Oh...and they are pretty good, too.
Ingredients:Note: You must use a standard size (6-7 cup) blender, capable of crushing ice, for this recipe.
* 4-8 oz. Tequila (according to how strong you want them)
* 3 oz Triple Sec
* 1 can frozen lime juice concentrate
* 3 cans water (use the empty lime juice can)
* 2 tablespoons sugar
* 1 full tray of ice cubes
* salt (for rim of glass)
* lime, sliced, for garnish
Directions
1. Salt rim of margarita glasses. Set aside.
2. In a blender (see note above), combine all ingredients. Run blender on highest setting (or "ice crush" setting) until ice is a thick slush. There should not be any large ice chunks left in the mix.
3. Place a slice of lime on the rim of each margarita glass and serve immediately.
Note: If you have a thin, liquid mix instead of a slush, add additional ice and continue blending.
Note 2: The above measurements seem to suit the average taste. You may want to adjust quantities to your taste.
Note 3: Keep any left over in the freezer. In will get firm but will not freeze. Just stir with a spoon before serving.
Makes 4-6 margaritas, according to the size of the glasses you use.
